Toddler Dance Classes Near Camp Lejeune (Ages 18 Months – 4)
January 8, 2026
If you've ever watched a two-year-old spin in a tutu in your living room, you already know they're ready to dance. The trick is finding a class that meets them where they are — short enough to hold their attention, structured enough to actually teach something, and friendly enough that they'll want to come back next week.
Here's what to look for in toddler dance classes around Camp Lejeune and Sneads Ferry, and what we offer at each age.
What "good" looks like for toddler dance
The right toddler class isn't a small version of an adult class. At this age, the goal is gross motor skills, listening to music, following simple directions, and most of all — falling in love with movement.
- Short classes (30 minutes). Anything longer and you'll lose them.
- Structured but imaginative. Real teaching, but framed as play.
- Same teacher each week. Toddlers need familiar faces.
- Music that actually fits the age. Age-appropriate songs, no random radio top-40.
- A parent option for the very youngest. Walking babies through age 2 do better with a parent on the floor.
Our toddler programs, by age
Walking babies – Age 2: Wiggle & Move (parent-and-child)
Wiggle & Move is for walking babies through age 2, with one parent on the floor. It's 30 minutes of creative movement, music, and basic dance concepts — designed for the way toddlers actually learn at this age. The parent piece matters: walking babies just don't have the developmental skills to follow a class without you. Offered at both studios.
Age 2 – 3: Pre-Tap (Camp Lejeune) and Pre-Ballet (both studios)
By age 2-3, toddlers can handle a short solo class — 30 minutes, structured, with imaginative storytelling and props. We offer Pre-Ballet at Camp Lejeune on Thursday mornings (9:00–9:30 AM) and Saturdays at both studios. Camp Lejeune also runs a Pre-Tap class for ages 2-3 on Monday mornings.
Age 3 – 5: Ballet/Tap Combo
By age 3, kids can stretch into a 60-minute class — and at this age, a combo class is the perfect introduction. They learn pre-ballet basics and tap rhythms in the same class, building motor skills across two disciplines. This is also where kids start figuring out what they're drawn to: some end up loving the precision of ballet, others can't get enough of the noise their tap shoes make.
What about a 4-year-old who wants something more?
If your 4-year-old has done a year or two of dance and is asking for "more," look at our Ballet/Tap/Jazz Foundations class — three styles in one class, ages 5–7. Some 4.5-year-olds are ready early; the placement is by readiness, not strictly by birthday.
Two locations
Both studios run toddler classes. Pick what's easier for your commute:
- Camp Lejeune (On Base) — inside the MCCS Tarawa Terrace Community Center. Best if you're on-base already.
- Sneads Ferry (214 Sneads Ferry Rd) — no base access required.
What it costs
A single 30-minute toddler class is $63/month. A 60-minute combo class is $77/month. The tuition calculator shows the rate for any combination of hours — and remember, if you have multiple kids or take multiple classes at the same studio, the family rate bundles automatically.
The easiest next step
Schedule a free observation — pick a class, watch from the side, meet the teacher. No commitment, no sales pitch. Most parents say it took about 10 minutes to know whether the class was right.
